I have wanted to start this blog for a while now. I just kept putting it off because thinking about what to write isn’t easy, oh, and putting yourself out “there” is intimidating. However, I am going to do my best to put out some weekly content for all my followers. My hope is that they will learn something that helps them be better protectors. I believe my perspective is very helpful to most women. Like me, they are moms, sisters, wives, and getting started in training with a firearm is usually overwhelming, to say the least. I live this life, and I believe with some guidance and a few life changes, you can also make a difference in your life. Plus getting to share it with local women makes it so much more fun than going it alone!
I’ll also be sharing what it is I do as a firearms instructor. Showing you what a difference this profession makes in the lives of others. Teaching others how to safely handle a gun, have situational awareness, and invest in their training affects everyone in a positive way. I know there are a lot of people out there that look down on what I do. They have a negative thought when it comes to anything gun-related. I can relate. I had a similar belief at one point in my life that honestly came from fear. Then I woke up and took the time to learn! I started to “see” how vulnerable we make ourselves. Once I gained confidence in handling a gun, I started training, a lot. Later, I moved into teaching other women how to gain their confidence. Now, this is what I love to do. If only you could see behind the scenes of each class. The difference of just being capable with a gun makes to these women. Better yet, in future posts, I’ll show you!
Some final thoughts…Although the thought of putting my thoughts out there makes me cringe, I figure sharing these blogs will help women who aren’t in my classes. Different perspectives are good, and that’s why I decided to share my journey with the world. Here we go…
